Air Conditioning Regas
On a hot summers day there is nothing worse than your air con blowing warm!! Or struggling to demist your window in winter, yes please use your aircon system in winter as it is a dehumidifier this is why on a hot, humid summers day a puddle of clear water can be found under a running air conditioning system.
Air conditioning systems use a refrigerant that is either R134a for older vehicles or R1234y for new vehicles, by taking advantage of the properties of refrigerants below ambient air temperatures are possible inside the cabin.
Regular use of you air condition system is vital for reliability, with refrigerant small amounts of a special oil are sent around the system to lubricate various parts mostly the compressor, use keeps this oil spread throughout the system, we recommend weekly use even through winter.
Unfortunately, all air conditioning systems fitted to vehicles lose refrigerant through the rubber pipes connecting the engine driven compressor to the vehicle because of this loss car manufacturers recommend an air con service every 3 years.
During our aircon services we remove all the old refrigerant, oil and any contaminants through a 10-minute vacuum cycle, this refrigerant is then cleaned, the correct amount of refrigerant and oil is then deposited back into the system, ensuring the system is in tip top shape for when you need it most.
